Can Am - 2017 Can-AM Renegade 850 -- Gas Tank Seam Problem
My son purchased a new 2017 Can-AM Renegade 850 in March 2017. He also purchased an extended warranty at the time of purchasing the ATV, but we found the tank isnโt covered.
The gas tank developed a leak in the seam, at the top by the filler neck. There is no physical damage to ATVโs gas tank or surrounding parts. The gas tank had to be replaced at the cost of $709.99. We had the gas tank replacement work done at the dealer where it was purchased.
I am certain that the leak occurred, due to a weak spot in the seam. My sonโs ATVโs gas tank was never hit or damaged due to a accident, while ridding (Check photos). I believe that Can-Am has responsibility with the repairs of this ATV. The dealer that replaced the tank, contacted CAN-AM, but they will not cover it because it is out of warranty.
Can-Am will not let me talk to the warranty department or any other department, and will only communicate to dealers. I canโt get anywhere with this company. The leak was caused by a weak seam caused at the time of its mounding.
I have contacted the company but they will not respond, they do not care about the consumer, once you purchase their product. The photos do not show any damage, and the seam was weak from the factory.
Reason of review: Damaged or defective.
Monetary Loss: $709.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
